Description

To get there, watch for signs on Highway 138 and drive 11 km towards the river. This route takes you to a scene so rich in maritime history.

Erected in 1830, this lighthouse is a historical monument in 1964 by the Quebec government. Today true heritage museum, it includes seven stories that illustrate themes, including the lives of eight guards who worked there, navigation and shipwrecks near Pointe-Noire.

The exhibition and interpretation recently renewed now offer visitors a sensory experience from floor to floor, with multimedia technology and an audioguide. For further information, a short film about the lives of guards and their families.

The balcony saver, highlight of this lighthouse 30 meters, offers a view of 360 degrees, on the river and its surroundings, and allows the observation of whales that come to feed close to shore. This microregion is a place of healing naturally.
