La P’tite Cochonne artisanal bakery was started in in Les Bergeronnes 16 years ago by two people who were passionate about making and selling healthy, high-quality baked goods.
The bakery (whose name means “Little Piglet” in French) is open daily from June to mid-October. Ideally located between beach and forest, the bakery has a lovely sunny patio where customers can sip coffee or tea, enjoy a snack, and admire the flowers and the birds.
The bakery’s mission is to offer artisanal products made with locally sourced organic flour, with no chemicals, additives or preservatives. Our breads and pastries are made fresh daily with North Shore ingredients, and we make sure all our customers receive warm, friendly service.
The owners use time-honoured, traditional techniques and recipes from different cultures to create products that attract and satisfy their tourist visitors. Their clientele also includes loyal locals who shop there specifically for the organic products, which have a longer shelf life.
The bakery makes three kinds of in-house products. First, the bread: a wide variety of delicious loaves, as well as baguette, focaccia, royal focaccia, and speciality breads.
Pastries: 6 kinds of brioches and our very own, extremely popular kouign-amann.
Sweets and jams: caramel and jams made from North Shore berries are available based on production capacity.
We also sell several kinds of organic Quebec cheeses, made with raw or pasteurized sheep's, goat's and cow's milk, as well as sheep's milk yogurt. And for the carnivore in you: we recommend you try our delicious organic terrines, rillettes and dry sausages.
To avoid disappointment, remember to reserve your “piggy pleasures” in advance: before you leave on a bike ride or a river cruise, for instance.
