This legendary village is famed for the ballads of singer Gilles Vigneault, Les Galets, and the warm welcome of its residents. Linked by road to the rest of the province since 1996, it is a cultural tourism destination, especially for its Innucadie storytelling festival. A long beach with water perfect for swimming, rivers, and a walking trail await you. At the visitor center, you can return the “Sur la route de Natashquan” road guide CD (in French only) that you rented at the Manitou stopover or in Havre-Saint-Pierre. A brief audiovisual presentation provides an introduction to the village. On the beach, Café de l’Échourie is the place for chitchat and conversation, and occasionally a show in the summer. The city has earned two fleurons under the Fleurons du Québec program (established to encourage municipalities to beautify their gardens).
