Stop at the Visitor Information Centre, at 331 rue Principale on the St. Lawrence River, for a bit of village history. See the remains of a 19th-century sawmill and the Sault-au-Mouton Falls. A hiking trail with interpretive panels leads to a suspension bridge over the falls. Take the Sentier des Crans Rouges, or “red rock” trail from the village church down to the shore and the salt marshes, home to numerous birds.

In August, don't miss Festivent, the local wind festival. Kitesurfers, head east past the interpretation centre, take the Chemin du barrage toward the Baie du Soleil Couchant B&B and end up at Pointe-à-Boisvert. This prime kitesurf location has toilets, hot-water showers and other services.
