Côte-Nord is home to a 300-km segment of Québec’s renowned Route Verte cycling Route, from Tadoussac and Sacré-Coeur to Baie-Trinité. Known as the Cycling the Whale Trail it runs along the St. Lawrence River past lakes, rivers, and mountains. Over 90% of the Whale Trail is on a shoulder at least one metre wide on Route 138. However, several sections take you into villages along the way. You can also do loops if you use south-shore ferry services from Rivière-du-Loup, Trois-Pistoles, Rimouski, or Matane, or north-shore services from Saint-Siméon, Les Escoumins, Forestville, Baie-Comeau, or Godbout. All the information you need to plan your trip is on a cycling map, which you can order by calling 1 888 463-5319 or visiting the VéloRoute des Baleines website (in French only).
