New tourist attraction in the region as of June 19, 2021!
Storytelling and historical interpretation of Tadoussac.
The Festival de la Chanson de Tadoussac, in collaboration with Alexandre Belliard, presents:
TADOUSSAC - A DOOR TO AMERICA!
Historically,Tadoussac has always been a place of meetings and exchanges and a place where it is very pleasant to gather. Long before the arrival of the Europeans in the 16th century, Innu, Anishinabeg and Maliseet indigenous nations met there.
Fishermen and European explorers joined them later on to forge commercial and strategic alliances. Tadoussac was the gateway to the American continent and the scene of many key events.
In this world-renowned sandy bay, almost all the great figures of New France have set foot. Jacques Cartier, Pierre Chauvin, Samuel de Champlain, Étienne Brûlé, Louis Hébert, Marie Rollet, the Kirke brothers, Jeanne Mance and Paul Chomedey de Maisonneuve all passed through Tadoussac.
Through stories and songs, "TADOUSSAC - A GATEWAY TO AMERICA", we discover the fabulous history of those who passed through the first trading post in Canada, before inscribing their name in the great adventure of the continent!
