Description
During fishing season, several families of Tête-à-la-Baleine moves to their summer village on Providence Island. Although this seasonal migration is tapering off now, it was essential for getting closer to the fishing grounds before the advent of motorized boats. The chapel, erected in 1895, is the oldest on the Lower North Shore. The rectory has been turned into an inn featuring typical Lower-North-Shore cuisine from the area. Guided two-hour tours of Providence island are offered every Saturday when the supply ship stops over.
