Building Technician

Work schedule: Regular full time position, 35 hours/week, Monday to Friday

Salary: Between $26.54 and $37.00/hour, according to experience

Workplace: To be determined according to the successful candidate

Start date: Immediately

NATURE OF THE WORK

By carrying out inspections and judging the condition of the major architectural and structural components of the land, buildings, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical and other systems

Following the inspections, determine the repair work to be done, estimate the budget and prioritize them based on the remaining life of the components and the potential impact of not carrying out the work

Conduct annual building inspections and update MAXIMO asset management software data

To a lesser extent, develop and prepare architectural, structural, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical or other drawings and plans, as well as appropriate specifications for bidding and construction purposes and to supervise the execution and realization of the projects

Initiate, support and coordinate the work of the support staff in the tasks they perform in relation to the execution of technical operations for which they are responsible

As needed, carry out any other related task in connection with the performance of his/her duties.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Hold a Diploma of College Studies in Building Systems Technology or a diploma or an attestation of studies recognized as equivalent by the competent authority

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel and Word;
• Have a vehicle and valid driver's license;
• Communication skills in English and French.
