Duties
Delivers interpretive presentations, programs and activities to provide visitors of the Mingan Archipelago National Park Reserve with opportunities to discover, appreciate, learn about and enjoy the place and its natural and/or cultural resources and understand their significance to Canada.

The Parks Canada team working at the National Park Reserve of the Archipelago Mingan includes 20 employees nearly 50 people in the summer. The fieldwork, exclusively on islands, requires travel which is provided by Parks Canada boat operators. Departures are from the marina of Havre-Saint-Pierre or Mingan.

POTENTIAL NEEDS: This process may also be used to create a list of qualified candidates to staff similar positions with various tenures, security levels or linguistic profiles in Mingan Field Unit.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)
College or graduate degree in one of the following fields of study: biology, ecology, environment, history, geography, geology, teaching, heritage interpretation, or an acceptable combination of education and experience related studies with the post or a related field of study.
OR
An acceptable combination of education, training and experience related to the position.
Acceptable combination of education, training and experience means :
Completion of a post-secondary diploma in a discipline related to the position or have a background in the fields of natural sciences, earth sciences, history, education or animation.
AND experience in animation, communication or interpretation to the public.
EXPERIENCE :
Recent* and significant** experience in delivering messages/information to groups in face-to-face situations with the purpose of education, engagement, entertainment and/or motivation.
* Acquired within the last two years.
** Minimum duration of 3 months.

Knowledge of communication, presentation and interpretive techniques.
ABILITIES :

3. The flexibility to work well in changing situations with a range of different individuals and groups.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT :
• Obtain and maintain reliability clearance status.
• Possess a valid Driver's License (Class 5).
• Go to work by your own means.
• The candidate will be required to undergo a health assessment and meet the essential occupational health and safety requirements of the position in accordance with the Isolated Posts Policy.
OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS :
The position requires:
• Work shifts, weekends and federal and provincial holidays.
• Working outdoors in different climatic conditions in isolated locations (Archipelago Islands), including the possibility of sleeping in these isolated environments.
• Go on daily sea trips aboard various boats.
• Agree to wear the Parks Canada uniform.
• Use and carry equipment (First Aid Kit, portable radio, backpack, etc.).
• Be willing to undergo First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
