The Chute-aux-Outardes Bike Show, Metal and Roaring Engines!

By Étienne Lalancette

The entire village of Chute-aux-Outardes recently pulsated to the rhythm of the exhilarating 24th edition of its famous Bike Show, held from June 27th to 29th. Founded in 2000, this annual event has become an essential gathering for Harley-Davidson enthusiasts, attracting crowds from near and far to celebrate their shared love of motorcycles and the open road. Already on the horizon, a thick white cloud rose from Parc All Been under the roar of Twin Cam and Milwaukee-Eight engines. Harley-Davidson was everywhere: jackets, motorcycles, scarves, wallets, umbrellas, and more. Several clubs proudly displayed their colors, all with great respect for one another. Motorcyclists of all ages and backgrounds were present from all corners of Quebec. Already, a massive crowd was participating in the festival.

Organized by Ken Desbiens for 24 years, this year's Bike Show offered three days rich in emotion, music, and entertainment. The atmosphere was electric, fueled by a mix of rock and metal resonating throughout the venue, setting the stage for an unforgettable experience amidst the occasional skunk musk here and there. Beer flowed freely and laughter echoed loudly!

The highlight of Thursday evening was a captivating performance by Michael Charette, delighting the audience with classic rock hits, setting the stage for an epic weekend.

Friday evening kicked off with performances starting at 7:30 PM by Blackout, paying tribute to Scorpions, followed by IronWhat at 8:30 PM, delivering an electrifying homage to Iron Maiden with their renditions from "Killer" to "Fear of the Dark". The night ended on a high note with Rammstime at 11:00 PM, shaking the stage with their tribute to Rammstein, complete with explosions and fireworks that left the crowd on edge with each blast! Nearly identical to the real Rammstein, Rammstime perfectly mimics the legendary German band's performances, with flaming microphones, gunshots, and even a keyboardist "tortured and put in a cauldron" during "Mein Teil".

Saturday began with the solemn blessing of motorcycles by Father Jimmy Delalin, symbolizing safety and camaraderie among motorcyclists. The day continued with the highly anticipated mechanical rodeo, where men and women tried their luck at taming the beast. Participants also enjoyed various competitions and surprises throughout the day. One of the most popular activities was the SlowRace, where the motorcycle that crosses the track the slowest without touching the ground wins.

In the evening, spectators were treated to sensational performances: first, a tribute to Offenbach by Mario Girard, followed by the appearance of rockstar Jonas, who resonated throughout Chute-aux-Outardes. To close the festival in style, Def Story delivered a vibrant homage to Def Leppard, immersing the audience in nostalgia until the last notes faded.

The event grounds buzzed with activity, featuring a variety of booths and vendors. From NordX motorcycles to gentlemen from Repair du Gentleman styling hair, participants explored and enjoyed a good poutine while savoring a fine "Amy" from Quebec North Shore Distillery to complement the lively spirit of the Bike Show.

As always, the Chute-aux-Outardes Bike Show exceeded expectations. It's not just about motorcycles; it's about community, music, and shared passion.

With another successful year behind it, the Chute-aux-Outardes Bike Show continues to unite motorcycle enthusiasts and showcase the best of motorcycle culture. Plans are already underway for next year's event, promising even more excitement for bikers and spectators alike.
