The North Shore is an immense playground for outdoor enthusiasts. Hiking trails are numerous and sometimes well-hidden. Bénédicte and Julien, adopted North Shore residents, have created "Sentiers de la Côte," a website that brings together over forty "hikes and boreal getaways" for all levels to discover on the North Shore. It's the ideal place to obtain information about the accessibility and difficulty level of a trail and to discover new ones.

Their project is still young, but Tourism Côte-Nord is already a big fan. That's why we contacted them to find out their favorite trails to explore this autumn in the region. Here's their top 5 autumn getaways, presented in geographical order.

  1. Mont Adéla-Lessard and the Fjord Trail (Tadoussac) The excursion to Mont Adéla-Lessard, which lasts a few hours, is part of a longer 41-kilometer journey. Although it's quite challenging, its magnificent panorama of the Fjord's mouth is worth it.

    Distance: 6.6 km round trip

    Level: Difficult

  5. La rivière Quetachou (Baie-Johan-Beetz) This getaway stands out from other trails in the Baie-Johan-Beetz area because of the contrasting colors in the burned forest and the sound of its waterfalls that can be heard during the hike.
